How do I book a hunt at Iron Mound Outfitters?
All bookings are handled through a custom inquiry process. Contact us directly through info@ironmoundoutfitters.com , and we will help tailor the hunt to your group’s needs.
Do you offer online booking?
Not at this time. We personalize every hunt and prefer to coordinate directly to ensure the best experience.
Do you require a deposit to secure the hunt?
Yes. A 50% deposit is required upfront to secure your spot for the coming hunt. Deposits are not refundable but may be transferable.
What’s included in the cost of the hunt?
All hunts include guides, trained dogs, safety gear, meals, and basic instruction.
Is transportation to the lodge available?
Transportation from the Salina airport is available with a multi-person van or SUV.
Airport transportation from Wichita can also be coordinated. Please mention your transportation needs when you call to book your hunt.Do you offer group or corporate packages?
Yes. We specialize in creating group experiences—perfect for corporate retreats, team-building, or friends’ weekends.
Are families welcome at Iron Mound Outfitters?
Absolutely. We welcome hunters and non-hunters alike, and offer a variety of activities to suit everyone. Whether they want to join the hunt or enjoy other experiences, we’re happy to build a custom itinerary for your whole family.
What do I need to bring?
A full packing checklist will be provided upon booking.
Do you have shotgun rentals or ammunition available for purchase?
Yes. We have both Over Under & Semi-Automatic shotguns available for rent. We can even accommodate left-handed shooters if needed. Ammunition is available for purchase.
Do you allow alcohol consumption?
Yes, but for the safety of yourselves and other hunters, only after the hunting day is complete. If a guest consumes alcohol prior to the hunt, they will not be allowed to participate that day. Refunds are not allowed due to intoxication.
Hunting Experience
Do I need a hunting license?
Yes. We’ll help you secure the correct Kansas hunting license and any permits needed based on your selected hunt.
Do I need any hunting experience to participate?
Not at all. We welcome beginners and offer full instruction, outfitting, and guided support from the field to the range.
Can I bring my own hunting dog?
Yes—please let us know in advance, so we can accommodate your preferences.
What type of transportation is available?
We provide comfortable, guided transportation throughout your hunt. Guests are taken from the Lodge to the field in a spacious van or SUV, then ride in four-door UTVs for the hunting experience itself.
What does a typical hunt experience itinerary look like?
An example of hunt experience itinerary is below. This can be adjusted to fit your perfect trip.
Arrival Day
Check-in begins at 3:00 PM the afternoon before your hunt. This allows time to get settled, rent firearms, purchase ammunition, explore the pro shop, and, if time permits, enjoy a complimentary round of sporting clays on the owner’s private range. Following your check-in, dinner and refreshments will be served as well.
Day 1
- 7:00 AM – Breakfast
- 8:30 AM – Hunting begins
You’ll experience up to four hunts throughout the day, each lasting approximately 1–1.5 hours. Between each hunt, enjoy refreshments and snacks fireside, with time to relax and reset. - 12:00 PM – Lunch is Served
- 6:00 PM – Hunt Dinner is served
The evening winds down with drinks and cigars, offering a perfect close to a day in the field.
Day 2
- 7:00 AM – Breakfast
- 8:30 AM – Final morning hunt
The second day’s hunt wraps up around 10:00 AM, allowing time to return to the lodge - 12:00 PM – Lunch is served, clean up, and check out after.
